Steve Waltho will replace John Hicks following an internal restructure

Davis Langdon has appointed Steve Waltho managing director for Europe, following an internal restructure over the past couple of months.

Waltho, previously head of the consultant’s infrastructure team, will sit below Davis Langdon’s global chief executive Jeremy Horner.

He replaces John Hicks, who left the European role vacant after moving sideways to take up a new post of head of government and public in November.

The appointment comes after a turbulent few months for the firm, which made nearly a quarter of its directors redundant last autumn.

In a statement Davis Langdon, a subsidiary of US-based engineer Aecom, said its infrastructure team had doubled in size under Waltho’s leadership since 2008.

His team was appointed to produce the cost and risk model for High Speed 2.
