The newly crowned Sustainability Leader of the Year also wins a Sustainability Project of the Year award for Elizabeth II Court

Rab Bennetts was last night named the construction industry’s Sustainability Leader of the Year at the 2009 Sustainability Awards.

It was a double night of celebration for the architect as Bennetts Associates also won the Sustainability Project of the Year award for developments over £2m with the Elizabeth II Court building in Winchester.

The awards ceremony held at King’s Place in King’s Cross saw success for Feilden Clegg Bradley, which was named Sustainable Designer of the Year, and Bill Dunster, whose RuralZed won the best sustainable project under £2m.

Atelier Ten was named Sustainable Consultant of the Year while Gentoo Construction was crowned Sustainable Housebuilder of the Year.

Sustainable manufacturer of the year was InterfaceFLOR while Igloo Regeneration was named Sustaianble Client of the Year.

The Sustainable Contractor of the year prize was handed to concrete specialist Byrne Bros.
