Develop's residential arm will convert Royal Military Academy Woolwich site into homes.

Developer the Durkan Group has bought the £15m Royal Military Academy Woolwich site in south east London from Defence Estates.

Durkan residential arm Durkan Homes will convert the majority of existing buildings into residential units, with additional new build units. An outline development brief has been agreed with the local authority to ensure the development emphasises the historical importance of the site.

The sale of the RMA to Durkan follows the MoD's strategic policy of disposing of estate which has been declared surplus to military requirements. Defence Estates disposed of the site on an unconditional basis following detailed discussions with the Local Planning Authority to support the proposed use.
