Consultant appointed cost and project manager by Grosvenor

EC Harris has been appointed cost and project manager on a 1,200-home scheme near Oxford.

The consultant has been appointed by joint developers Grosvenor and Oxford council.

The multi-million pound development will create up to 1,200 homes, a primary school and retail facilities in Barton.

The developers are currently seeking planning consent, with construction expected to start on site in 2013.

Terence O’Rourke is also working on the project as masterplanner along with architecture practice Glenn Howells.

Andy Matthews, partner at EC Harris, said: “This is an exciting development to create a whole new community, and we are very pleased to be working with Grosvenor and the council.”

Edward Skeates, projects director at Grosvenor said: “The timescale and costing of the Barton development will be extremely important to its success.

“EC Harris has the right blend of experience, expertise and understanding of the vision for the development which will make them invaluable partners throughout the process.”
