One worker still buried after ceiling collapsed during construction work on chemical factory in Chongqing

At least 11 workers have been killed in China after a ceiling collapsed at a chemical plant, according to state news.

The accident happened on Monday afternoon at the Jianfang chemical factory in the south-western city of Chongqing, Xinhua News Agency said.

Governor of the local district, Tang Zongwei, said the collapse occurred in an area that was under construction.

Eleven bodies have been recovered. A 12th worker is still buried.

The incident is the latest in a series of fatal construction accidents in China. Last week, eight died after a wall collapsed at a building site in the north-western city of Xining.
