Esh trebles profit as it hails ‘strong demand’ in housing and infrastructure

Esh Group has trebled its profit and grew its turnover by 17%

The Durham-based contractor, in its audited accounts released on Companies House on Friday, reported pre-tax profit of £15.m for the year to 31 December 2025, up on the £5m reported for the previous year.

The group’s turnover increased from £300.4m to £346.3m over the same period. Its turnover from infrastructure rose by £34m while its housing business increased its income by £11.5m.

The firm has closed out fixed-price legacy contracts that had previously been hit by cost inflation and said it is now in a “position of increasing strength.”

Andy Radcliffe, chief executive of Esh, said: “Demand within our core operating segments remained resilient, driving a significant increase in turnover, with both our housing and infrastructure divisions delivering strong performances.

“This, underpinned by our guiding principles of securing work with the right client, at the right price and under the right contract, has heavily contributed to our record year, enabling us to deliver profitable growth and strengthen our market position.”

The firm’s portfolio centres on work for local authorities, utility and environmental companies, registered affordable housing providers, as well as the private housing sector.

Esh Group placed 71^st in Building’s Top 150 Contractors & Housebuilders list last year, which ranks firms by turnover.
