Last year Amanda Clack called for independent inquiry into RICS financial scandal

A former Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) president, one of four who called for an independent inquiry into the body’s finances, has been appointed as the regional chief executive of a risk consultancy.

Amanda Clack will lead HKA, which specialises in risk mitigation, dispute resolution, expert witness and litigation support services, across its new Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

Amanda Clack was RICS president between 2016 and 2017

President of the RICS between 2016 and 2017, Clack wrote to now-toppled president Kathleen Fontana in January 2021, demanding to know why a group of “highly credible” directors had been dismissed for trying to raise alarm about a critical financial report.

The report, by accountant BDO, warned that the body was at risk of “unidentified fraud, misappropriation of funds and misreporting of financial performance”.

RICS ultimately accepted an independent review and Fontana and three other senior figures were forced to quit following the resulting report

Prior to her move to HKA, Clack was an executive director at real estate firm CBRE and has previously held partner level positions at several firms, including EY and PwC.

HKA partner and chief executive officer Renny Borhan said Clack was joining at an “exciting point as we continue to enhance our position in the industry and expand into new geographies and industries”.
