Ground engineer Keller heads survey of largest specialist contractors in UK.
Ground engineer Keller is the biggest specialist contractor in the UK according to a new Building survey.
Keller’s turnover of £567.5m was over £200m greater than the second largest firm in the sector, mechanical engineer Encor Drake & Scull.
Encor Drake & Skull recorded the biggest current turnover in the UK at £347.4m but also suffered a pre-tax loss of £11.7m in the year to 31 December 2003.
Mechanical engineering firms filled eight of the top-10 places in the survey while the firm with the largest profit was structural steel contractor Mabey & Johnson, which made a pre-tax profit of £32.5m thanks largely to Asian contracts.
