Consultant will also work with the RICS to provide assessment and accreditation services

Cost consultant Faithful+Gould has created a specialist team of commercial energy assessors to help developers, owners, purchasers and occupiers of buildings understand and evaluate their EPC.

Shaun Lunn, F+G director and EPC expert, said; “As energy usage and carbon emissions are becoming key considerations on a tenant’s agenda, EPCs will prove crucial in establishing the level of CO² emissions from a property.

“Everyone in the property sector will be required to be more flexible in making improvements to meet user expectations and market demands to ensure the sale and re-letting of their premises.”

The firm has also agreed a contract with the RICS to provide assessment and accreditation services.

Christopher Cuthbert, F+G associate director, said: “In developing this core national team now, our building surveyors will be accredited by the RICS and will be qualified commercial energy assessors within the next month – well ahead of the 1st October deadline.”

In addition, other firm members will be accredited through the BRE Trust and The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers.
