Consultant to provide commercial management on consolidating facilities into one unit
Consultant Faithful+Gould has been appointed as QS to provide CDMC and commercial management advice for Waters Corporation’s new 218,000ft2 headquarters for mass spectrometry in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
The project involves uniting Waters’ existing mass spectrometry operations, currently located in four separate sites in south Manchester and Altrincham, for over 500 employees.
Plans for the new facility include customer demonstration laboratories, research and development and manufacturing capabilities, due to open in 2013. The consolidation onto a single site will provide Waters with much greater synergies and economies of scale on the scheme.
F+G will also be advising on the varied environmental challenges involved in the project, including habitat protection and relocation, for instance there is a significant bat roost within an existing building on site.
