Norfolk's millennium project, the £63.5m Forum, designed by Sir Michael Hopkins and Partners, has opened in Norwich. The 21,000 m2 building contains a library, visitor facilities, television studios and a restaurant, all grouped around a covered piazza. Half the project's funding came from the Millennium Commission and the other half from local authorities and businesses. Structural engineer was Whitby Bird & Partners, M&E engineer was Oscar Faber, QS was Turner & Townsend and main contractor was RG Carter.
