Ferrovial, the Spanish owner of airport operator BAA, has made its first management change three months after taking over the company for £10bn.

José Leo will move to BAA as chief financial officer. He had been at Ferrovial’s support services subsidiary Amey since 2003, where he was the group finance director. Before that he was managing director of Ferrovial Telecomunicaciones.

Stephen Nelson, BAA’s chief executive said: “José brings very valuable experience in leading Amey´s restructuring process in the UK, as well as a decade of success within Ferrovial Group in various managerial posts. In a new era he will help us focus upon achieving higher performance.”

Leo replaces Margaret Ewing, who has decided to leave BAA. Ian Hargreaves, corporate and regulatory affairs director, has also left the company.
