Scientists reproduce one of construction's most valuable tools

Dubai scientists have cloned the first camel. The female calf named Injaz was born last Wednesday at the Dubai Camel Reproduction Centre, which was set up 20 years ago. Camels have a distinguished history within the construction industry. In the early days of European settlement in Australia they were used to transport materials. They played a major role in the construction of the Overland Telegraph Line, a 3,200 km telegraph line connecting Darwin with Port Augusta in South Australia, completed in 1872. They are currently being used in Arnprior, Ontario, Canada in a strawbale building project. It has not been confirmed whether the Dubai will use them in its own construction industry …
