Business founded by head of collapsed firm’s ISG Agility division
The firm set up by the former boss of ISG’s Agility fit out division has brought in a former contracts director at the collapsed firm to head up its pre-construction business.
ISG Agility was the collapsed contractor’s fit out business which specialised in the sub 50,000 sq ft sector.
Max Steward spent more than 12 years at ISG across two stretches, sandwiched either side of a three year stint at BW.
He has teamed up with former BW boss Chris Pratt to set up Archer which specialises in cat A and B commercial office jobs.
The firm was one of the few set to up in the wake of ISG’s implosion with many of its former fit out staff joining Mace, Structure Tone and Wates.
Now Archer has recruited Rhys Williams, Agility’s former contracts director, to head up its pre-construction services arm taking the total number of staff to around a dozen.
It comes as the firm has won its second major job in less than six months with a £2.5m deal to carry out work at the 20 Gresham Street office of law firm Sackers.
Others working on the scheme include project manager Savills, QS Core Five and architect Hassell.
At the time of its launch, Archer said it will focus on jobs in the capital as well as Cambridge and is expecting turnover at the end of its first year at the end of this December to be around £10m.
