Part of the Mind Zone at the Millennium Dome was closed this week because a floor panel on its bridge had worn out.
New Millennium Experience Company closed the bridge after discovering that the non-slip surface needed repairing, making part of the dome inaccessible.
A New Millennium Experience Company spokesman said: "We wanted to make the area as safe as possible. The bridge will only be out of action for a day or so.
"It was too early to say whether there was anything wrong with the panelling," the spokesman added.
The spokesperson emphasised that there were no structural defects in the Zaha Hadid-designed zone.
