Oliver North to lead cost and commercial management at PE-backed consultant

Ridge has appointed a former Mace Consult boss as its new partner and head of cost and commercial management.

Oliver North spent 13 years at Mace, mostly recently as private sector business unit lead for the UK and Europe.

Prior to that he was Mace’s cost and commercial management lead, where he led a team of around 600 across 15 countries.

At Ridge, North will have a national remit leading its cost and commercial management function. He will also be tasked with improving Ridge’s use of data and AI to improve client insight.

Mark Richards, cost management partner at Ridge, said: “Oliver brings extensive experience of leading large teams and delivering complex major programmes across property and infrastructure. He understands what clients need from a cost and commercial management service offer as projects increase in scale and complexity.”

Ridge has been backed by private equity since 2023 when London business Horizon Capital took a £40m stake in the firm.

In September, Horizon sold its share to Jersey-based CVC for an undisclosed sum.
