Move will take place next May when incumbent Paul Sheffield steps down

Former Sir Robert McAlpine chief executive Paul Hamer is set to take up a board role at Dutch contractor Royal Bam.

Hamer was replaced by Neil Martin last February, having joined in summer 2017 from consultant WYG, formerly White Young Green, where he was chief executive.

This morning, Royal Bam, whose businesses in the UK include Bam Construct and Bam Nuttall, said Hamer will be “nominated for appointment as a member of the Supervisory Board” at its AGM next May.

Hamer is set to replace former Kier chief executive Paul Sheffield whose stint on the board is coming to an end.

Henk Rottinghuis, chairman of the Supervisory Board, said: ‘I am pleased that we can nominate Paul Hamer as a member of our Board. He brings a wealth of business and leadership experience both in terms of general management and the construction industry.”
