Practices including Eric Parry and Rick Mather chasing mixed-use job

Maidenhead

Allies & Morrison, Eric Parry Architects, Rick Mather Architects and Studio Egret West have all been shortlisted for a mixed-use scheme in Maidenhead.

The Berkshire town will be the western start and finish of the Crossrail route when it opens in 2019.

Organised by RIBA Competitions, the mixed-use scheme is being developed by Ryger Maidenhead and the London & Aberdeen Group and will involve building new offices, homes and shops at a site in the middle of the town.

Consultant Core Five has been appointed to assist in assessing the design competition and will then take the scheme to planning with the successful architecture practice later this year.

More than 30 submissions were sent in for the work with the remaining four architects now working up their final plans ahead of presenting them to the competition jury next month.
