Scheme being developed by Berkeley Estate Asset Management
French contractor Legendre UK has been confirmed for a £70m deal to refurbish an office in London’s Mayfair.
Building revealed last year that it was closing in on the scheme at 50 Stratton Street having beaten Wates and which is being developed by Berkeley Estate Asset Management (BEAM).
The work involves overhauling an office built in 2002 with the latest proposals designed by architect Stiff & Trevillion.
Construction will start next month with the job scheduled to finish by the middle of 2028.
Others working on the scheme include QS Exigere, project manager Blackburn & Co, services engineer Norman Disney & Young and structures consultant Heyne Tillett Steel.
The same project team has worked on another BEAM scheme, a £70m deal to overhaul a building at nearby 50 Berkeley Street. The scheme, also designed by Stiff & Trevillion, has been carried out by Bam.
Legendre has picked up several schemes in recent weeks including a deal to overhaul 10 Salisbury Square, a six-storey scheme known as Oriel St Bride’s, in the City for development manager Simten and investor Original Works as well as an office-to-hotel conversion in Hammersmith for Central & Provincial and Candour Properties.
Legendre UK set up its UK business in London’s West End in 2015, having been founded in its native France in 1946.
As well as construction, it has a property and energy business. Its turnover was €1bn (£870m) in 2023/24 with the firm employing 2,500 people across 24 offices.
