Kent contractor says getting hold of labour has become easier in wake of housing slowdown
Gallagher Group has posted increased turnover and profit in its latest accounts filed at Companies House.
The Kent-based civil engineering and groundworks contractor reported turnover of £129.4m for the year to September 2025, up 6% on the £122m posted for the following year.
Its pre-tax profit increased 9% from £16m to £17.4m over the same period.

The firm said it expects trading levels to be higher in 2025/26 than the previous 12 months.
It said obtaining good quality labour is “easier than it once was” because the slowdown in the residential market in the south east has released skilled workers.
But it added: “The wider industry remains under pressure from skills shortages. Interest rates remain high, although they have fallen recently, albeit at a slower pace than previously expected.”
Gallagher last year placed 129th in Building’s Top 150 Contractors & Housebuilders list, which ranks firms by turnover.
