Deal has £11m pricetag

Alan Higgs centre

Galliford Try has won an £11m deal to build a new swimming pool in Coventry.

The firm, which unveils its annual results next month, said the 50m pool will be built at an existing leisure centre the firm constructed back in 2004.

The pool at the Alan Higgs leisure centre, named after a local philanthropist whose charity helped fund the Ricoh Arena in the city, will include space for 500 spectators as well as a health suite. It will be built on a former indoor football pitch.
