Contractor secures £13m Newport station revamp and £6m deal to upgrade former Silverlink stations around London

Construction and housebuilding group Galliford Try has announced that it has secured two rail contracts worth a total of £19m.

Network Rail has awarded it a £13m regeneration project at Newport station in south Wales, to be completed by autumn 2010.

It has also won a £6m contract to carry out electrical, telecommunications and civil engineering works for London Underground to upgrade 12 former Silverlink stations on the London overground line.
