The founder of the Osborne civil engineering and building firm died peacefully in his sleep last Saturday.

Geoffrey Osborne, the founder of the Osborne civil engineering and building contractor has died after a long illness aged 81.

Osborne founded the company in 1966 and remained involved in its management until his death.

Andrew Osborne, the company’s finance director, said: “My father regarded himself as first an engineer, and only secondly a contractor. His biggest source of pride was not the growth of the company but the people that worked for it. He was committed to giving everyone the opportunity to flourish within the company and took great delight in seeing people develop their potential.”

Geoffrey Osborne died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday 12th March after a long illness. A funeral service will be held at Chichester Cathedral on Monday 21 March at 2.30pm.
