Contractor’s current jobs include largest Premier Inn hotel for Whitbread
Northern Ireland contractor Gilbert-Ash said it expects profits to go up again this year after the firm booked a double-digit rise in 2025.
The firm, which has been appointed to carry out a £40m makeover of the RIBA’s headquarters at Portland Place in London, said pre-tax profit was up 11% to £7.6m on revenue down 15% to £227m,
In accounts filed at Companies House, the firm said income fell “due to a change in the start of a large project that has since progressed at pace”.
Gilbert-Ash also confirmed it is on site with a £75m scheme to build a new Premier Inn off Trafalgar Square in London which at close to 700 bedrooms will be the largest Premier Inn hotel in Whitbread’s portfolio.
Gilbert-Ash managing director Ray Hutchinson said: “The past few years have required careful navigation for our industry, but our results this year are proof that quality work and quality people are the best way to meet these challenges.
“We’ve used this period to deepen our connections with long-standing clients and to embark on new and exciting relationships across a range of sectors.”
The firm said year-end cash was up by close to £4m to £55.5m.
