Project includes over 400 build-to-rent homes
A £120m plan to transform the old Strathclyde Police headquarters in Glasgow into build-to-rent homes has been given the go-ahead by the city’s council.
The Holland Park development, a joint venture between Moda and Apache Capital Partners, will feature 433 homes, which will all be for rent.
After getting the OK from the city council, work is set to start on site later this year, with the first homes due to be available in 2022.
Designed by Glasgow architect HAUS-Collective, the homes will be spread across four buildings set around a new public courtyard, with the buildings ranging from six to 22 storeys in height.
All the apartments, which will consist of a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes, will be digitally-enabled and will collectively house nearly 1,000 people.
The development will also include 45,000sq ft of amenity space, including residents’ lounges, virtual sports simulators, health and wellness zones, landscaped roof gardens and barbecue areas.
Moda is also looking to improve the surrounding public realm and install new green infrastructure.
The JV has a £1.5bn pipeline to deliver more than 5,000 rent-only apartments, with the JV securing planning for five of its initial eight city centre sites across the UK.
Other schemes are currently underway in Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, and Manchester.
