Consultancy is appointed on big regeneration schemes in Sheffield and Nottingham.

Multidisciplinary firm Gleeds has been appointed on projects in the North of England worth £800m.

Regional development agency Yorkshire Forward has appointed the consultancy on three major projects, including the regeneration of the Sheaf Valley area of Sheffield.

In Nottingham, Gleeds has been appointed as project manager for two school redevelopments, both due for completion in 2007.

In addition, the firm is to play a pivotal role in the regeneration of the city of Nottingham, handling work worth over £600m.

It will be managing a variety of projects, including the redevelopment of Nottingham train station and one of the city’s key regeneration zones.

Alan Barker, managing partner at Gleeds said: “Much of our work comes about as a result of success that we have in previous projects.”

“Nottingham is going through a fantastic amount of expansion and regeneration and we are pleased to be playing a part in this rejuvenation of key areas in and around the city.”
