Sue O’Connell has become chief executive of Partnerships for Health (PfH), which leads the procurement process and the delivery of the NHS Lift programme.

O’Connell has been the joint interim chief executive since June when Brian Johns left after four years in the post. She is responsible for investment.

George Farley, the other joint chief executive, formerly looked after procurement. He is now director of operations.

A GP by profession, O’Connell joined PfH two years ago. Prior to that, she was the project director on the Colchester and Tendring Primary Care Trust’s Lift scheme.

Earlier this year the Lift programme looked to be in danger when five schemes in Kent were scrapped but PfH is pushing ahead with seven other schemes in the current wave.
