Contractor will design and build phase two of the redevelopment scheme in west London
Graham Construction is to design and build the second phase of the Gramophone Works, a commercial redevelopment scheme taking shape next to the Grand Union Canal in west London.
The £25m project for developer Resolution Property will add a further 65,000ft² of workspace across five floors.
The first phase of the scheme has already had 20,000 ft² of office accommodation and a communal terrace added to the former home of Saga Records, the now-defunct record label founded in the late 1950s.
The phase two job will see the addition of a new four-storey timber extension above the building, featuring a louvred rooftop plant enclosure, green roof and solar panels.
There will also be a canal-side café, reception and event space and storage for 130 bicycles.
Work on the second phase of the scheme is about to kick off, with completion expected in early 2021.
Rob Joyce, Graham’s London office director, said the new development would provide “state-of-the-art business facilities and public spaces to support the needs of the local community and workforce in Kensal Rise”.
