Parsons Brinckerhoff gets go ahead for high-tech jet training centre on Anglesey

The Parsons Brinckerhoff design for a “top gun” training facility on Anglesey has been given the go ahead.

The engineering firm developed designs for the high-tech jet training centre at RAF Valley for support services firm VT Aerospace.

The design has now been confirmed as part of a £72m contract between VT Aerospace and Ascent Flight Training.

The project will see the construction of a 5000m2 training block plus squadron building and 9000m2 storage hanger. PB is also providing project management and engineering services on the scheme.

Project manager Ralph Johnson said: “This is an exciting and challenging project for Parsons Brinckerhoff and one that we are well-placed to deliver, given recent experience with MoD projects.”

Construction is due to start in September with completion due in 2010.
