Highways consortium A-one+ has won two major maintenance contracts worth a combined £825m.

The highways JV, comprising CH2M, Colas and Costain, has won deals from Highways England to provide maintenance for its area 12 network in Yorkshire and Humberside and area 4 in Kent and Sussex, Highways England confirmed.

The contracts, set to begin in June 2016, have a combined estimated value of between £140m and £165m a year, and will run for five years with the potential for a three-year extension.

It comes after a separate CH2M and Costain JV won a £300m contract to provide road maintenance for East Sussex county council.

The seven-year contract will begin in March 2016 and will see the firms responsible for maintaining the East Sussex highways network, including roads, pavements, drainage, street lights, traffic lights and structures.
