Councillors agree to change phasing of next phase to speed up £800m project

Hill Group has been appointed to deliver the first phases of a major estate regeneration scheme in north London.

Enfield council has awarded the housebuilder the job to deliver the first 270 homes across two blocks at the Joyce and Snell’s estate, with work expected to start in the summer.

Councillors also agreed to speed up the next stage of the project, which will deliver a block of 220 homes for affordable tenures instead of 148.

The scheme will include one blcok of 26 storeys

The council’s cabinet has agreed to appoint HTA Architects as the lead designer of this ‘block b’ phase.

Plans for the redevelopment of both estates were approved two years ago. The project is earmarked to cost more than £800m.

The wider project will see 795 homes demolished and replaced with a denser scheme of more than 2,000 homes in blocks of up to 26 storeys tall.
