Consultant project manager on SmartCity Kochi business park featuring a sustainable township

Consultant Hill International has won a contract to provide project management services for the development of the SmartCity Kochi development in India.

Located in the southeastern Indian coastal city of Kochi, SmartCity will be a technology epicenter. The development, built on approximately 300 acres and developed as a Special Economic Zone, is expected to become one of India's largest business parks.

The project also features a sustainable township based on the US Green Building Council LEED standard.

The two-and-a-half year contract for client by SmartCity (Kochi) Infrastructure Private has an estimated value to Hill of approximately £5m.

It has been designed to be a platform for technological excellence where major global and local businesses will be attracted to set up their regional operations and is projected to generate more than 90,000 employment opportunities.

“SmartCity Kochi will be a state-of-the-art business community.”

The first phase is expected to cost approximately £192m.
