Stalled scheme will replace Broadmarsh centre with 1,000 homes and new offices
Homes England has begun the search for a developer to help mastermind building 1,000 homes and a new commercial district at the stalled Broadmarsh scheme in Nottingham.
Homes England bought the site last year along with land to the west of the Green Heart park, a multi-storey car park, the grade II-listed Severns House and a former college site.
Under the proposals, the site’s 1970s shopping centre will be cleared to make way for new homes, retail and offices.

A masterplan design for the site, which would see part of the old shopping centre’s structural frame retained, was drawn up by BDP and published by the city council two years ago.
Homes England is currently working with its partners, including the East Midlands Combined County Authority and the city council, to get the scheme off the ground.
Jo Nugent, Homes England executive regional director for the Midlands, added: “We are now focused on securing an experienced Master Development Partner who shares our vision and will work collaboratively with us to deliver a vibrant, mixed-use city quarter that Nottingham can be proud of for generations to come.”
