The first pictures of the Saga headquarters, built by Schal, and approaching completion in Folkestone.
This £20m headquarters for the Saga holiday group in Sandgate, Folkestone, designed by Michael Hopkins and Partners, will be completed in early April.

The energy-efficient, naturally ventilated office features a ceiling of exposed, precast concrete supported on a spray-painted steel and concrete frame. The main building covers 10 000 m2.

A 3000 m² amenities building houses conference facilities, a crèche, nursery and 900-seat dining room. Its environmental design takes advantage of its exposed sea-front site.

Ove Arup & Partners was structural and services engineer; Schal was construction manager; Davis Langdon & Everest was project manager and QS; and Camilin Lonsdale was landscape architect.

Schal is also managing the migration of 1500 Saga staff from six buildings around Folkestone to the new headquarters. The headquarters will be officially opened in the summer.
