Designs for £193m library by Dutch architect Mecanoo are revealed

The long-awaited designs for the £193m Library of Birmingham have been revealed. The 31,000m2 scheme by Dutch architect Mecanoo envisages a glass building wrapped in metal filigree inspired by the city’s industrial history. Carillion is to build the scheme and Capita Symonds is the project manager.
