New facility will serve four separate hospitals in the area.

Intergrated Health Projects (IHP) has won a £12.9m contract with the Pennine Acute Hospital NHS Trust for a pathology laboratory at the Royal Oldham Hospital.

IHP, a joint venture between Norwest Holst Construction and Sir Robert McAlpine, will build a three-storey facility that will be used by four hospitals, and become a focal point for pathology services across the northeast Greater Manchester area.

Work is due to be completed on the project by November 2007.
