Construction insurer GE Frankona Re has appointed Risktec Solutions, a risk management consultant, to oversee projects in which it has an interest, including the BBC's Broadcasting House in London.
Risktec aims to eliminate delays by ensuring that the project team is collaborating fully. It will also visit sites before high-risk procedures such as heavy lifting to make sure they are conducted safely.

The Broadcasting House project will be the largest live broadcasting centre in the world when it opens in 2007. It will accommodate all the BBC's national and international television and radio networks, and provide exhibition space, a cafe and a new public arcade linking Portland Place and Hallam Street.

Alan Hoy, Risktec Solutions' managing director, said: "Working with GE Frankona Re to provide risk management from the very start of such a large and prestigious construction project is proving beneficial to all the parties."
