Support services group Jarvis has made a bid for a division of troubled IT firm Eurotelecom – but rejected reports that it has made a play for the whole company.
The group has made a "low six-figure bid" for Eurotelecom's project division, which develops and maintains broadband local networks.

Mike Tate, Jarvis' corporate communications director, said the business would be added to its systems and technology division, formed last year. He said: "It is an area we are keen on but this is a small deal; the division we want has only 20 staff." He dismissed reports that it had made been made preferred bidder for Eurotelecom, which has been placed in administration after collapsing in February. Pricewaterhouse Coopers is the administrator
