Find out more about how the Budget affects you in our question and answer session with an expert panel on Wednesday 30 June

Don’t miss this Wednesday’s live text debate on the emergency Budget from 12 noon, where you have a chance to discuss the chancellor’s announcements and what they mean for construction with a panel of experts.

As the impact of George Osborne’s “unavoidable” Budget begins to be felt some pressing questions come to mind: How will the rise in VAT affect long-term contracts with installment payments? Overall, how will construction be affected by this and other tax changes? Although capital spending as a whole is to be protected (beyond the previous cuts) will the Comprehensive Spending Review in October have some nasty surprises for certain projects?

The panel includes Graham Kean, head of public at EC Harris, Noble Francie, economics director at the Construction Products Association, Ian Hyder, tax partner at Pinsent Masons and Hartley Foster, partner at Olswang and Chloe McCulloch, Building’s deputy web editor.
