Higher education projects have gone through a funding crisis this year, but what does the future hold? Share your tips and experiences in our live debate today

Building is hosting a live online debate this afternoon on the future of funding for college building projects as part of it's Education Now virtual conference.

In January this year the Learning and Skills Council put a moratorium on spending for further education colleges. Since then it has released funding for several more colleges and the government has indicated that it will put in £200m to kickstart stalled projects next year, although that money has not been allocated as yet.

But what of the institutions that have missed out on funding? What has happened to their building plans? If you have any tips for people who now need to self-finance projects or have been involved in college building projects you can join the debate at 4pm today.

Chairing the discussion will be Building's assistant editor Sarah Richardson, and our guest speakers are Marcus Lyon, divisional director, Currie & Brown and Laurence Brett, head of higher education, Davis Langdon.
