Stuart Togwell becomes deputy co-chair at group
Kier chief executive Stuart Togwell has been appointed the new deputy co-chair of the Construction Leadership Council.
Togwell, who took over as Kier boss from Andrew Davies last autumn, has replaced Richard Robinson, regional president for AtkinsRealis, at the CLC.
Togwell will have responsibility for the CLC’s delivery of three of its five priorities including Net Zero, Biodiversity and Circular Economy.

Alongside Togwell’s appointment, the CLC said that Lilly Gallafent, COO of Cast, will be industry sponsor for the Digitalisation of Planning and Building Control systems while RLB partner Paul Beeston will be industry sponsor for Business Model Reform.
Togwell said: “With nearly 40 years’ experience in this fantastic sector as well as leading one of the UK’s largest contractors, I am delighted to be joining the CLC and being a voice for the industry as well as bringing together all parts of it together to find solutions for some of the most pressing issues.”
The CLC is co-chaired by Mace Construct executive chairman Mark Reynolds and industry minister Chris McDonald.
