Consortium led by contractor will complete the £30m headquarters in early summer 2008

A consortium led by contractor Kier has achieved financial close on a PFI police headquarters in Kent.

The deal, for Kent Police Authority, has been secured by a consortium comprising Kier Project Investment, Kier South East, Reliance Secure Task Management and Bank of Scotland Corporate. The £30m headquarters at Thamesway, Northfleet, will be built by Kier South East and will include a 40-cell custody suite.

The project is due for completion in early summer 2008, when Reliance Secure Management will run the facilities management for a 30-year concessionary period.

Kier Group chief executive John Dodds commented: “We are delighted to have secured this contract and look forward to working with Kent Police. Our objectives as shareholder and builder are to facilitate Kent Police in their drive to consistently improve their day to day operations.”
