PBSA scheme will be built at Elephant & Castle
A housing joint venture set up between London developer Fabrix and German developer and investor Patrizia has made its first appointment.
The pair set up the Sustainable Communities London initiative which they say aims to deliver affordable housing on underused urban land and industrial buildings.
McLaren has been handed a £55m deal to build a PBSA housing scheme in Elephant & Castle which will see 283 student beds, 20 new affordable homes for social rent, retail and community space.
Designed by architect Howells, others working on the scheme include project manager Gardiner & Theobald, cost consultant T&T Alinea and structural engineer MTT.
McGee has been on site carrying out demolition and enabling works with McLaren due to finish in spring 2028.
Called Walworth Corners, the scheme will include a community kitchen, high‑street retail and a publicly accessible courtyard garden.
