Current deputy chairman Bob White to take over as chief executive from September

Mace chairman Bob White is to replace Dennis Lenard as Constructing Excellence chief executive from September.

As tipped in Building (12 August) Lenard’s contract will not be renewed when it expires at the end of August. Current deputy chairman Bob White will take over the running of the DTI-backed body.

Dennis Lenard is now understood to be looking at posts in the UK and Australia. He said in a statement: “This time in CE has been delightful, but working closely with a number of construction and consultancy organisations has highlighted for me how much I miss the corporate life. I look forward to new ventures and new relationships with the business community".

Lenard had led CE since it was created two years ago. The organization recently merged with Be to become Constructing Excellence in the Built Environment.
