Firm expecting turnover to hit £550m this year
Northern Irish contractor McAleer & Rushe has been appointed to a £90m student housing scheme in Birmingham.
Specialist developer Greystar is building the project for student accommodation provider Student Roost with close to 850 bedrooms set to go up at the site in Selly Oak.
Called the Triangle, it is being built on a former Sainsbury’s supermarket and will also include 26,000 sq ft of commercial space including a community medical centre.
Meanwhile, McAleer & Rushe has topped out a hotel it is building for the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) at Croke Park in Dublin.
The ground is considered to be Ireland’s national stadium and is the headquarters of the GAA.
The four star €40m (£33.5m) Maldron Hotel will be run by operator Dalata Hotel Group and will include 200 bedrooms and a business centre. It is due to open next year.
Earlier this month, McAleer & Rushe said it was expecting turnover to hit £550m this year.
The residential specialist said income last year was up 13% to £491m with pre-tax profit up 46% to £16m in accounts filed at Companies House.
