Martin Ewing to oversee contractor’s current deals

McLaren has appointed Martin Ewing as its new divisional director for its construction management and specialist projects arm.

Ewing, who has spent the past two decades at Sir Robert McAlpine after joining the firm from Wates in 2003, reunites with Vince Lydon who joined McLaren from McAlpine two years ago.

Ewing will oversee the division’s portfolio of projects currently under delivery and will report to Lydon, the CM division’s managing director.

Lydon said: “The division has been growing significantly over the past 12 months due to increased demand from customers for Construction Management services on complex buildings and infrastructure.

“Martin’s experience will help us ensure that quality, safety and innovation continue to be applied consistently throughout the projects that we’re building and that we work collaboratively with our customers to achieve the best outcomes.”

Jobs the division is working include the Cardiff Arena and the refurbishment of an office tower in Birmingham called Colmore Gate.
