Scheme designed by CLT specialist Waugh Thistleton

McGee is set to start work before Christmas tearing down the Black and White building in London’s Shoreditch.

The firm will also be carrying out basement work at the site on Rivington Street.

CLT specialist Waugh Thistleton Architects has designed the six-storey office block which will feature cross-laminated and glue-laminated beams as a reference to the site’s history – the current building is a former warehouse used for drying timber.

East London firm Mid Group will carry out the main construction work for The Office Group after the developer failed to agree a price with ISG which had initially been expected to win the deal.
