Firm joins Lanarkshire council contractor framework for four-year rebuilding programme

UK contractor Morgan Ashurst has been selected for a £300m schools modernisation programme in Scotland.

The firm has been appointed to North Lanarkshire Council's contractor framework for the four-year programme of upgrades, due to start in February 2009.

The work will include the construction of new schools and refurbishment of existing facilities. Morgan Ashurst, the construction arm of Morgan Sindall, said it would be worth up to £100m for the company.

Paul Smith, chief executive of Morgan Sindall, said: “The education market remains strong and, along with the defence and leisure sectors, will have a key role to play in the continued success of our construction division.”
