Contractor Morrison AWG has won a £325m 10-year facilities management contract with North Lanarkshire council for 50 000 houses, schools and libraries.
A firm set up for the deal, Morrison Property Care, will employ 700 former council staff in the public-private partnership. The council holds 33% of the shares in this firm. The contract started this month.
