Support services group Mouchel Parkman has been appointed preferred bidder on a £188m regeneration contract let by Rochdale council.

Mouchel Parkman is expected to act as the council’s regeneration partner over a 15-year period. The contract is initially worth £12.5m a year, and will start in April next year. It is the biggest single contract the company has ever won.

Other services to be provided by the quoted company include highways, property, IT, customer services and payroll.

Richard Cuthbert, Mouchel Parkman’s chief executive, said he expected the terms of the contract to broaden: “The value of the contract is expected to grow over time as more services are introduced.”

Projects will include the creation of office buildings in Rochdale town centre and a call centre.
